ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged the nation to take guidance from the life of founding father Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and follow his principles of unity, faith and discipline to progress and bring prosperity to Pakistan.
PM’s special message
In a message on the 146th birth anniversary of Quaid e Azam, the prime minister said that the father of the nation valiantly waged a strong constitutional and political fight for the rights of Muslims of the Indian subcontinent, and as a result, today, all Muslims are living independently in Pakistan.
He said that Quaid-e-Azam’s struggle was against the usurpation of the rights of minorities by the majority based on numerical superiority. Still, Quaid-a-Azam strived for their separate social, and economic, political and cultural identity among world nations.
He said that the Quaid raised awareness among the Muslims of the subcontinent about their rights and also made sure that after independence, Muslims should have lived their lives independently and peacefully by enjoying religious and cultural freedom.
Sharif said that Quaid-e-Azam not only wanted a separate and independent state for the Muslims but also wanted such a state, where minorities could live without any fear, enjoying equal rights and opportunities for the development of Pakistan.
The prime minister said Quaid-e-Azam’s life was a practical demonstration of his steadfastness, who believed in constitutional struggle, political sagacity, and the golden principles of faith, unity, and discipline.
He said the Pakistani nation needed to follow Quaid’s thoughts and principles. Nobody was superior to others in Pakistan based on language, class, religion and numerical strength. — APP
