ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has confirmed his participation in the upcoming special session of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) legislative assembly. The session will address the evolving situation in the aftermath of the Indian Supreme Court’s recent verdict on the special status of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
PM Kakar decided to participate in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) legislative assembly session in the meeting with the AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq at the PM House.
Expressing Pakistan’s stance, PM Kakar unequivocally rejected the Indian Supreme Court’s decision, emphasizing that it endorsed the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by the Indian government. He reiterated that the longstanding IIOJK dispute could only find resolution through adherence to United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
PM Kakar criticized India for violating international laws and resorting to unilateral actions under the pretext of court decisions. He highlighted the illegal revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status by India on August 5, 2019, with the apparent objective of altering the region’s demographics.
The Prime Minister pledged unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people, reaffirming their inherent right to self-determination.
