ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Monday warned terrorist groups in Pakistan of dire consequences, urging them to make an “unconditional surrender.”
Speaking at the Interior Ministry, where he launched the country’s new visa policy, PM Kakar said that the State would not negotiate with terrorists. He said that the State would not show leniency to those who committed violence and killed innocent citizens.
PM Kakar made it clear that individuals would not be allowed to take the law into their own hands, saying that only the State had the legitimate right to use armed power through its security forces. He underscored the unwavering stance of the State against terrorism and militant activities, asserting that all State organs were committed to persistently counteracting militancy.
Addressing the families of martyrs, PM Kakar stated that any leniency shown in the past to militants would be mitigated. He called on those willing to denounce terrorism to seek forgiveness from the families of the martyrs, acknowledging and honoring their invaluable sacrifices. The prime minister paid tribute to the martyrs from various segments of society, including police, politicians, journalists, soldiers, and children.
Pakistan’s PM Launches New Visa Policy
Earlier, during the launch of the new visa policy, PM Kakar congratulated the Ministry of Interior on achieving a “good milestone.” He emphasized the need to further rationalize the visa policy to attract investment, stating that a country’s visa policy was fundamental to its economic roadmap.
The new visa policy includes the introduction of investor visas and the revision of the existing business visa category. The process ensures visa approval within 24 hours, offering short-term (1-3 years) and long-term entry visas (5 years) for investors. The business visa category has also been revised with the introduction of SIFC Business Entry and its extension.
PM Kakar inaugurated a memorial gallery displaying pictures of martyrs and visited the social media cell for a briefing on its functioning. Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti received the prime minister at the Ministry of Interior, where family members of martyrs expressed gratitude for recognizing the sacrifices of their loved ones.
