DUBAI: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar held informal discussions with several world leaders on the sideline of the COP28 summit in Dubai on Friday.
Among those he interacted with included British Prime Minister Rishi Sunik and Danish Prime Minister Mette Fredrickson. Moreover, the prime minister had an informal exchange with British King Charles III while participating in the family photo session of the High-Level Segment of the 28th Conference of Parties.
Pakistan Prime Minister is leading Pakistan delegation at the summit that include Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Climate Change Minister Ahmed Irfan Aslam, and Energy Minister Muhammad Ali.
Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar also met with his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte on the sidelines of COP28 in Dubai.
During their meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, exchanging perspectives on international and regional matters, with a particular focus on the situation in Afghanistan.
They also addressed the evolving human rights and humanitarian conditions in Gaza. Both leaders commended the celebrations in Islamabad and The Hague, commemorating 75 years of diplomatic relations established this year.
The Caretaker Prime Minister emphasized the importance of collaboration between Pakistan and the Netherlands, suggesting bilateral and European Union avenues for joint efforts on shared concerns. He extended an invitation to Dutch companies to invest in Pakistan, particularly in areas such as agriculture, horticulture, water management, and renewable energy.
