Pakistan’s PM Invites UAE President to Climate Resilient Conference

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday held a telephonic conversation with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The two leaders resolved to expand further and diversify unique bilateral relations between the UAE and Pakistan. PM Shehbaz thanked the UAE President for the material and financial support to Pakistan after the recent devastation caused by climate-induced flash floods in Pakistan. 

The Prime Minister briefed the UAE President on the ‘International Conference on Resilient Pakistan’, to be held in Geneva on January 9, 2023, and solicited the UAE President’s support for high-level participation from the UAE.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Nahyan expressed UAE’s wholehearted support for the initiatives to further strengthen Pakistan’s climate resilience which is the key agenda of the Conference.

The Prime Minister reiterated the invitation to the UAE President for a visit to Pakistan to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Pakistan and the UAE have enjoyed close fraternal relations for five decades that are firmly rooted in common beliefs, shared culture, and values. The UAE is Pakistan’s largest trading partner in the Middle East region and a major source of investments.
