ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday hosted a reception in honour of the Pakistan and England Cricket teams at the Prime Minister’s House on Monday.
Addressing on the occasion, the Prime Minister termed cricket a “common area of passion” between the UK and Pakistan and said the England cricket team’s current visit to Pakistan would go a long way to building bridges between the two countries.
PM Shehbaz said that Pakistan enjoys wonderful ties with the UK, and cricket is one of the factors.

“In my opinion, your tour would go a long way to build bridges,” PM Shehbaz said.
The Prime Minister said that the UK has always supported Pakistani people for their well-being and in the cause of democracy by bringing investments through DFID in the health and education sectors.
PM Shehbaz also congratulated the English team for winning the Rawalpindi test against Green Shirts in the first of three matches series. He said the Green Shirts would make a strong comeback in the upcoming test match.
The Prime Minister also gave away souvenirs to the Pakistan and England captains. He appreciated the English cricket team captain for his generous contribution to flood affectees and for donating his match fee to the flood victims of Pakistan.
