ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday hailed the excavator driver who saved a family from severe floods in southwestern Balochistan.
The premier invited Mohibullah to the Prime Minister’s House, praised his bravery and selflessness in saving lives despite the risk to his own, and awarded him Rs 2.5 million.
“The entire nation, including myself, is proud of you. Your dedication to humanity is deeply admired. You are a true hero for showing such courage,” the prime minister remarked.
In addition to the financial award, Sharif announced that Mohibullah’s children would receive free education up to the university level, and his family would benefit from cost-free healthcare.
Mohibullah expressed his gratitude, saying, “Meeting the Prime Minister of Pakistan is a great honor I never imagined. I was unaware that my rescue effort would gain such widespread recognition.” He also thanked the prime minister for the recognition and the opportunity to meet him.
The meeting was attended by federal cabinet members Attaullah Tarar, Jam Kamal Khan, and Shaza Fatima Khawaja, as well as the Chairman of the PM Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, PM’s Coordinator Romina Khurshid Alam, and other senior officials.
