Pakistan’s PM for Job Creation, Resource Utilization in Balochistan

QUETTA: Pakistan’s caretaker, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, emphasized the imperative of generating employment and livelihood opportunities in Balochistan through a well-crafted strategy.

In a meeting convened to review developmental initiatives in Balochistan, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of maintaining budgetary equilibrium and prudent resource utilization in forthcoming undertakings.

Attended by the caretaker chief minister, ministers, and pertinent authorities, the meeting provided a platform to assess ongoing and proposed development projects.

Balochistan’s Potential Mineral Mining

Highlighting Balochistan’s substantial potential in mineral mining, the Prime Minister noted its capacity to contribute significantly to the nation’s economy. To realize this potential, he underscored the necessity for robust communication infrastructure in mineral-rich regions.

The Chief Secretary presented an overview of the ongoing and planned uplift projects in the province.

Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar’s directive to prioritize job creation and judicious resource allocation underscores the commitment to harness Balochistan’s potential for holistic growth and development.

PM Kakar Reviews Balochistan’s Irrigation Projects for Progress

Later in the day, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar chaired a meeting to assess the progress of irrigation and water supply projects in Balochistan.

During the meeting, he emphasized that despite the country’s economic challenges, all necessary support would be extended to ensure the timely completion of these projects.

The briefing covered various ongoing irrigation projects in Balochistan, such as the Kachhi Canal, Pat Feeder Canal, Awaran Dam, Gashkor Dam, and Winder Dam.

The prime minister highlighted that Balochistan holds immense agricultural potential, but its full utilization has yet to be realized. He stressed the urgent need to address issues related to providing clean drinking water.

Efforts to address inter-provincial concerns related to irrigation were also discussed, with the aim of fostering rapid progress and strengthening the federation.

Directing the relevant authorities, the prime minister urged the timely completion of these projects within the designated timeframes.

The meeting was attended by caretaker federal ministers Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, Shahid Ashraf Tarar, and Sami Saeed, along with Caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan Ali Mardan Domki, provincial ministers, and officials.
