Pakistan’s PM Extends Warm Wishes to Sikh Community on Birthday of Baba Guru Nanak

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Sunday conveyed warm wishes to the Sikh community in Pakistan and around the world on 554th birthday of Baba Guru Nanak.

The prime minister wrote on X, formerly Twitter, extended the warmest wishes to the Sikh community in the country and worldwide as they celebrate the 554th birthday of their religious founder Baba Guru Nanak. He said Guru Nanak’s teachings of peace, love, and equality were truly inspiring.

Sikh Community Continues Religious Rituals

On Sunday, the Sikh community continued their religious rituals on the second day of the three-day celebrations of the 554th birth anniversary of the founder of Sikhism, Baba Guru Nanak.

Sikh pilgrims are supposed to perform their religious rituals of Akhand Path, Shabad Kirtan, Ashnan, and others at Gurdwara Janam Asthan. They also performed the ritual of Matha Teki at Gurdwara Sacha Sauda in Farooqabad, district of Sheikhupura. The pilgrims were transported to the gurdwara by buses under special police protection.

Pilgrims from Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Australia, Canada and other countries are busy performing their rituals. On the second day, the yatrees performed their religious rituals, such as Akhand Path, Shabad Kirtan, and Ashnan and paid pilgrimage at the gurdwaras.

The Sikh guests from India are extremely happy to have reached Nankana Sahib. The pilgrims thanked Pakistan’s government for the arrangements. The Nankana district administration welcomed the Sikh pilgrims coming from abroad. The government has made special arrangements for the accommodation, food and transport of the Sikh pilgrims.
