Pakistan’s PM Directs Prompt Execution of SIFC Projects

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s caretaker, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, chaired the fourth Apex Committee Meeting of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to review the progress of in key areas.

The meeting was also attended by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Chief Ministers, Federal and Provincial Ministers and high-level government officials. It was the first meeting of the Apex committee under the caretaker government.

The committee briefed with a comprehensive overview of SIFC’s undertakings, highlighting progress in key sectors and the significant milestones achieved in a remarkably short timeframe.

Commending the effective operational approach of SIFC, the Prime Minister acknowledged the power of a collaborative “Whole of Government Approach” that facilitates both horizontal and vertical synergy.

The premier asked the authorities to accelerate the realization of identified projects by capitalizing on the enabling environment.

The Apex Committee commended SIFC’s strategic outreach efforts aimed at garnering international attention and fostering productive engagements with brotherly and friendly nations.

Earlier this month, high-level delegations from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) were received as part of these diplomatic endeavors.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Endorses Previous Projects

Affirming their trust in the SIFC initiatives, the Apex Committee demonstrated commitment and support in sustaining the optimistic trajectory toward the nation’s economic revival. Furthermore, the committee endorsed the projects previously sanctioned by the preceding administration, aimed at attracting investments in critical sectors, including Agriculture/Livestock, Mining/Minerals, Information Technology, and Energy.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister issued directives to expedite the implementation of identified projects, leveraging the conducive environment already established by SIFC.

The Chief of Army Staff reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s support to the Caretaker Government, ensuring policy continuity to reinvigorate the country’s economy and guide Pakistan towards a prosperous future.
