ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his disappointment on Sunday over the damage inflicted upon the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI), stating that his vision to transform the institute into a world-class facility like Johns Hopkins had been hindered by Imran Khan, the chief of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, and a former chief justice.
In a tweet posted on his official Twitter handle, the prime minister revealed his deep attachment to PKLI and his aspiration to make it a renowned institution globally for the treatment of kidney and liver diseases. However, he lamented that Imran Khan and the former chief justice had targeted the mission of PKLI, causing significant harm.

PM vows to transform PKLI
Undeterred by these setbacks, the prime minister affirmed his determination to continue working towards transforming and restoring PKLI into a world-class healthcare facility. He emphasized his belief that those who passionately serve humanity receive support from Allah Almighty.
During his recent visit to PKLI, the prime minister reviewed various measures aimed at the institution’s transformation and restoration. He commended Dr. Saeed Akhtar and his dedicated team for their leadership and efforts in achieving these objectives, assuring them of his full support.
