ANKARA: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif concluded his productive two-day official visit to Turkiye on Sunday and departed for Pakistan.
The prime minister was seen off at Ankara International Airport by senior officials of Turkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of the Turkish parliament, Ambassador of Pakistan Dr Yousaf Junaid, and other embassy members, according to a press release from the PM Office Media Wing.
During his visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the inauguration ceremony of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on June 3, upon the invitation of the Turkish President. The prime minister also engaged in bilateral discussions with world leaders, focusing on strengthening ties and cooperation between Pakistan and their respective countries in various fields.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held meetings with delegations from Turkish business and trade companies, exploring the vast potential for business and investment between the two brotherly nations in multiple sectors. The visit aimed to reaffirm the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Pakistan and Turkiye.
Pakistan-Turkiye Relationship
The prime minister conveyed warm felicitations on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan to President Erdogan for his re-election as President of Turkiye on May 28. The relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye is built on shared faith, culture, and history, and is further strengthened by mutual trust and a convergence of views on regional and global matters.
The frequent exchange of visits at the leadership level continues to be a defining feature of the enduring friendship between the two countries, as highlighted by the Foreign Office Spokesperson in an earlier statement.
