ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar emphasized the importance of continued and strong collaboration among Muslim countries to address challenges faced by the Islamic world. He made these remarks during a luncheon with resident Ambassadors from Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) countries in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The meeting included ambassadors from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Bahrain, Jordan, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Libya, Morocco, Oman, and Yemen. The caretaker foreign minister, secretary to the PM, and foreign secretary were also present, according to a statement issued from the Prime Minister’s Office.
PM Kakar highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to strong ties with the Muslim world, particularly with MENA countries, based on mutual trust, shared understanding, and close cooperation on bilateral and regional issues. The discussion covered various topics, with a particular focus on the deteriorating human rights and humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as challenges like Islamophobia.
Ambassadors Thank Pakistan PM for Strengthening Ties with Muslim World
The caretaker prime minister underscored the necessity for the Muslim world to work collectively, especially through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to address these complex issues. He commended the ambassadors for their efforts in strengthening ties between Islamabad and their respective capitals.
In response, the ambassadors expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and reiterated their commitment to advancing bilateral relations with Pakistan, recognizing its significant role in the Muslim world.
