ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a reduction of Rs7.43 per unit in the monthly fuel adjustment charges (FAC) for K-Electric (KE) for the month of November.
Consumers will be charged Rs4.98 less in FAC for November, said the regulatory authority adding that it will be applicable for only a period of 1 month.
The decrease will not apply to lifeline customers, domestic customers up to 300 units, agricultural customers, and electric vehicle charging stations, the authority said.
Earlier, consumers were also charged Rs2.45 per unit less in FAC for October, NEPRA said.
K-Electric had requested a reduction of Rs7.04 paise per unit.
NEPRA approves Rs0.1892 per unit decrease in FAC for Discos
NEPRA has also approved Rs0.1892 per unit increase in FAC for distribution companies (Discos) for the month of November.
The increase will only be applicable to the bills for the month of January, said the authority adding that it will be applicable to all customers of Discos except lifeline and electric vehicle charging stations.
CPPA-G had requested an increase of Rs0.1938 per unit.
The authority held a public hearing on FAC on December 27, 2022.
