ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has approved the schedule for the upcoming sessions of the National Assembly related to the presentation and passage of the federal budget for the fiscal year 2025–26. The budget will be formally presented before the House on Tuesday.
According to the schedule, the Assembly will not meet on June 11 and 12. The general debate on the budget will commence on June 13 and continue until June 21, after which it will be concluded the same day.
Speaker Sadiq stated that all parliamentary parties represented in the National Assembly will be allotted time for debate in accordance with parliamentary rules and procedures, ensuring that all voices are heard. There will be no session on June 22.
On June 23, the Assembly will begin discussions on the charged expenditures proposed in the budget. Debates and voting on demands for grants and cut motions will take place on June 24 and 25.
The finance bill will be put to a vote for approval on June 26, while June 27 will be reserved for discussions and voting on supplementary grants and other related matters.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq clarified that any changes to the approved schedule will only be made with the Speaker’s consent.
