Pakistan’s Most Areas to Remain in Grip of Cold Wave: PMD

ISLAMABAD: The forecast for the next twelve hours anticipates predominantly cold and dry conditions across most regions of the country, with partial cloudiness in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, there is a likelihood of light rain and snow at selected locations. Meanwhile, persistent dense fog and smog are expected in Islamabad, the plains of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh.

This morning’s temperature readings in major cities are as follows: Islamabad at three degrees Celsius, Lahore at six, Karachi at fourteen, Peshawar at five, Quetta at seven, Gilgit at minus-four, Murree at one, and Muzaffarabad at two degrees Celsius.

Turning to the weather conditions for the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the forecast predicts very cold and dry conditions in Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian, and Baramula, with partial cloudiness and intense cold in Leh and Anantnag. Jammu is expected to experience cold temperatures and dense fog.

The recorded temperatures this morning in the region are as follows: Srinagar and Pulwama at minus-two degrees Celsius, Jammu at six, Leh at minus-ten, Anantnag and Shopian at minus-one, and Baramula at zero degrees Celsius.
