Pakistan’s Minister and Saudi Ambassador Discuss Hajj Preparations, Bilateral Ties

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, on Tuesday, held a meeting with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki and discussed the next Hajj preparations, strengthening bilateral relations, and addressing challenges within the Muslim Ummah.

In the meeting, Regional Director of Muslim World League Saad bin Masood al-Harsi and Secretary of Religious Affairs Aftab Akbar Durrani were also present.

Minister Aneeq underlined the shared respect, devotion, and brotherhood between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and asserted his commitment to enhancing the experience of Pakistani pilgrims during this Hajj season.

Acknowledging the strong link between the two countries, he expressed his confidence in the Saudi envoy’s support and cooperation.

He said that the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony was holding an ‘Interfaith Harmony Conference’ in Islamabad on Wednesday, where leaders from different faiths, ambassadors, and civil society representatives would engage in discussions.

Moreover, Minister Aneeq Ahmed disclosed plans for the next National Seerat Conference, to be organized on 12 Rabi-ul-Awal.

He said that the conference is aimed to illuminate the world with the profound teachings of Islam.

Saudi Ambassador Highlights Importance of Youth Engagement

Saudi diplomat Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, highlighting the importance of engaging the youth, said that the Muslim World League (MWL) was gearing up for a global conference focusing on contemporary challenges.

He emphasized the need to inspire the younger generation to actively contribute to resolving the problems faced by the Muslim Ummah.

Additionally, he reminisced about the successful trip of the Saudi Minister of Hajj Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, to Pakistan while also expressing hope for the arrival of prominent Saudi personalities in the country in the near future.

In a gracious gesture, the diplomat extended his appreciation to Minister Aneeq Ahmed for his unwavering support and affection.
