KARACHI: The Met Office in its weather update on Sunday predicted a new heatwave in Karachi city on Tuesday and Wednesday (Muharram 9 and 10).
It said the weather will most probably remain humid and hot on July 16 and 17. According to the Met Office, due to the low pressure sea breeze will be stopped and the temperature could soar to 39 Celsius.
“Temperature in Thatta and Sujawal districts could reach 41 degree Celsius,” according to the weather report. The weather is expected to remain hot and humid in other districts of Sindh province.
Sindh’s eastern districts of Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas and Sanghar are likely to be affected by rainfall with thunderstorms. The Met Office said there are chances of drizzling in Karachi on July 16.
The weather department has predicted the entry of monsoon winds in the city from July 18 and heavy rainfall on July 19 and 20.
