ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met) has predicted mainly dry weather in most of the country, while partly cloudy in upper areas.
However, rain-wind/thunderstorm has been predicted at isolated places in the upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Minimum recorded temperatures
The Met Office recorded the lowest minimum temperature of -09 Celsius in Leh, -06 °C in Kalam, and -02 °C in Gupis and Astore.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave will likely approach the country’s upper parts by tomorrow.
Weather and Air Quality
As per the air quality index (AQI), the air quality in Lahore is 237 US AQI, 160 in Mangla, 178 in Rawalpindi, 219 in Faisalabad, 167 in Muridke, 143 in Sialkot. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 161 US AQI, 116 in Mirpur Khas, while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 155. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, air quality is 132 in Peshawar.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the maximum of 10 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 14°C in Lahore, 21°C in Karachi, 12°C in Peshawar, 8°C in Quetta, and 7°C in Gilgit.
