ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Law and Justice on Wednesday said that no notification has been issued pertaining to the appointment of a new Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP).
The ministry in an official statement, termed the notification as fake, which went viral on social media claiming the appointment of Syed Mansoor Ali Shah as the new CJP.
It is pertinent to note that Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa will retire on October 25. Earlier the Chief Justice stated that he had declined a proposed extension to his tenure amid rumours of age limit reforms.
Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah is next in line to succeed Justice Qazi Faez Isa the top judge.
