LAHORE: Pakistan’s largest biogas plant was unveiled in Lahore on Sunday. The plant in Gujjar Colony has the capacity to produce six thousand cubic meters of gas daily, utilizing 1600 kilograms of dung.
The plant is also likely to generate sixteen thousand kilograms of organic fertilizer daily that can be used by farmers for agricultural purposes.
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the biogas plant.
He toured different parts of the plant and planted a sapling in the complex.
The chief minister had laid the foundation stone of the plant in October last year.
Biogas Plant Cost
At the time, he said that it would cost 350 million rupees, and 80 million rupees of revenue would be generated annually. The income generated from it will be spent on the construction and progress of the same area, he added.
He added that the population of the area would benefit from the biogas plant. It will produce 1600 kg of grade gas, and 16 tons of fertilizers will be prepared from it.
