BATTAGRAM: In a remarkable display of expertise and coordination, the Pakistan Army successfully completed a challenging rescue operation in Battagram district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, successfully rescued all the stranded schoolchildren and a teacher stranded around 600 feet above the ground in a cable car, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday night.
Led by GOC SSG (Special Services Group), the operation involved a joint effort between the Army Aviation, SSG’s sling team, and the Pakistan Air Force, with the support of local administration and cable experts, ISPR said.
As per the directive of the Army Chief, the operation was swiftly initiated, showcasing the rapid response of the armed forces of Pakistan. The collaboration between the Army Aviation and SSG’s sling team was pivotal in ensuring the safe rescue of all persons aboard the chairlift, who were subsequently relocated to a secure location.
Highlighting the complexity of the operation, ISPR described it as one of the most challenging operations undertaken by the Pakistan Army. The skill and efficiency displayed by pilots from both the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force were unparalleled, navigating the difficult task with precision.
