KALGOORLIE, Australia: Pakistan’s rising squash star Hamza Khan delivered a dominant performance to win the Men’s Golden Open Squash Championship title in Kalgoorlie, Australia, defeating Hong Kong’s Ka Hei Ho in straight games in the final on Sunday.

The second-seeded Khan showcased his growing prowess on the international circuit, securing a 3-0 victory in the final of the $6,000 PSA Challenger Tour event held at the Ray Finlayson Sporting Complex.

His consistent and commanding displays throughout the tournament confirmed his status as one of squash’s most promising emerging talents.

Khan opened his campaign with a convincing 3-0 win over Hong Kong’s Lap Man Au, with game scores of 11-6, 11-7, 11-7.

In the quarterfinals, he faced a brief challenge from Australia’s wildcard Oscar Curtis, who managed to take one game. However, Khan responded with poise, closing the match 3-1 (11-8, 10-12, 11-4, 11-2).

In the semifinals, Khan returned to dominant form, defeating Hong Kong’s Ming Hong Tang in straight games, 11-5, 11-7, 11-4.

He carried that momentum into the final, where he outclassed Ka Hei Ho 11-6, 11-7, 11-5, sealing the title without dropping a game in either of his last two matches.

The 2023 World Junior Champion has continued to impress on the PSA tour, with his victory in Kalgoorlie marking another milestone in his professional career.

His strong performance across all rounds of the tournament, dropping only a single game, underscored his technical skill, physical fitness, and mental resilience.
