BISHKEK: Pakistan’s Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani on Wednesday called on Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretary General Zhang Ming.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (CHG) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization being held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The Foreign Minister took to X to post that he met with the SCO SG Zhang Ming and discussed areas of critical and practical cooperation. In his post, Jilani said that during the meeting, they discussed various areas, including connectivity, poverty alleviation, energy, and other areas as well.

The Foreign Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to Shanghai Spirit for Regional Development and a shared future. Zhang Ming assured his full support during Pakistan’s Chair of CHG.
Pakistan will chair the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (CHG) on Thursday, which will be attended by the Heads of Government of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan and the vice-president of Iran and Pakistani and Indian foreign ministers.
SCO Observer States that include Belarus and Mongolia as well as Guest State Turkmenistan, will also attend the CHG meeting.
