ISLAMABAD: In his final media briefing as Pakistan Foreign Minister on Wednesday, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari recounted his diplomatic accomplishments during his 15-month tenure.

Addressing a press conference, Bhutto remarked that upon assuming his role, the Foreign Ministry was facing significant challenges.

Referring to his leadership, Bilawal stated that when he took charge of the Foreign Ministry in 2022, he encountered mounting pressures on the international front, including the hurdles posed by the FATF-grey list.

Amidst the complex arena of international relations, Bhutto highlighted that he successfully addressed the perturbed Pakistan-China relations and played a pivotal role in revitalizing this crucial partnership.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering dedication to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Bilawal Bhutto celebrated the recent commemoration of its 10-year anniversary. He said that the CPEC decade celebration was graced by the participation of China’s deputy prime minister.

Enumerating his achievements, the Foreign Minister highlighted his successful restoration of Pakistan’s bilateral relations with the United States. Against the backdrop of global challenges, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs played a wise role in rejuvenating relations with friendly and brotherly countries, including China, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, which provided invaluable support during testing times.

The foreign minister emphasized that he vociferously raised his voice against human rights violations in the Indian illegally occupied Kashmir, advocating for justice and an end to Indian Army atrocities.
