ISTANBUL: Pakistan’s First Lady Begum Sadia Rehmat Ullah, addressing the ‘United for Peace Summit’ in Istanbul, condemned Israel’s inhumane oppression as a war crime and urged the international community to take immediate action to end Israeli aggression and lift the siege on Gaza.
Invited by Turkey’s First Lady Emine Erdogan, Begum Sadia Rehmat Ullah expressed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the people of Palestine. She strongly denounced Israel’s brutal and indiscriminate use of force against civilians, particularly women and children, who are currently besieged in Gaza.
In her speech, she prioritized the need for a ceasefire and the swift provision of humanitarian assistance to ensure the timely delivery of food and medicine to the people of Gaza. She called for a just, comprehensive, and lasting solution to the Palestine issue in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations and OIC resolutions.
Need for Humanitarian Assistance in Gaza
Reiterating support for the resolutions adopted at the recent joint extraordinary meeting of the Arab-Islamic summit, the First Lady demanded the facilitation of humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza. She highlighted Pakistan’s efforts in sending aid shipments to Palestinians and revealed plans for additional aid to establish an unhindered and unconditional humanitarian corridor for Gaza.
Begum Sadia Rehmat Ullah expressed gratitude to Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan for organizing the meeting, providing a platform to address the dire situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, including Gaza.
