ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, and Economic Affairs, Dr. Shamshad Akthar, on Wednesday chaired the kickoff meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Technical Assistance Mission focused on digitizing the budget process at the Finance Division.
Leading the IMF Technical Assistance Mission were Fazeer Rahim and Sybi Hida, Senior Economists from the Public Financial Management Division, accompanied by Esther Pérez Ruiz, the IMF Resident Representative in Pakistan.

During the meeting, the Finance Minister emphasized the importance of tailoring the recommendations to the specific needs of the Ministry.
The aim of the meeting was to enhance the effectiveness of the budget-making process through digitization. The Technical Assistance Mission assured the Ministry that it would propose practical and implementable solutions to achieve this objective.
