ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday that the federal government would extend maximum assistance in strengthening the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and police of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to make it even better to fight terrorism.
During his initial remarks at the apex committee here on the recent Peshawar terrorist incident, the prime minister said the province experienced a fresh wave of terrorist incidents that needed capacity-building of its security departments.
He emphasized unity among all provinces to fight the curse of terrorism jointly.

PM for investigation of the incident
Shehbaz Sharif vowed that a thorough and detailed investigation would be carried out against the culprits behind the terrorist attack and would be taken to task.
The prime minister recalled that in the past, military operations like Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad, successfully wiped out terrorism from the country.
Shehbaz Shairf said he had convened an All Parties Conference (APC) on 7 February to discuss ways to overcome the current national challenges adding that an invitation had also been extended to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to attend the conference.
