CAIRO Egypt: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Egypt Aamir Shouket called on the Grand Mufti of Egypt Dr Nazir Mohammed Ayyad in Cairo on Sunday, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening religious cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt.
Matters related to ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt in religious education, Muslim unity, collaboration against hate speech and interfaith harmony were discussed during the meeting which took place at Dar-Al-Ifta in Cairo, according to a press release issued by Pakistan’s Embassy in Cairo.
During the meeting, Pakistan’s Ambassador Aamir Shouket conveyed respect and best wishes from the Government and people of Pakistan to the Grand Mufti of Egypt Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad.
Ambassador Shouket noted with satisfaction the existing cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt in religious education.
The Ambassador admired the role of Al-Azhar scholars towards spreading the true spirit of Islam across the world.

The meeting discussed matters related to issues and challenges facing the Muslim world. Hate speech was identified as a threat to peace and Interfaith Harmony, according to a press release issued by Pakistan’s Embassy in Cairo.
Grand Mufti of Egypt Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad stated that Pakistan was very well respected in Egyptian society as a prominent Muslim country.
He recalled his recent visit to Pakistan where he met senior leadership of the country including the Prime Minister.
Grand Mufti of Egypt Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad expressed his best wishes and prayers for the prosperity of the people of Pakistan.
