WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s envoy to the US, Masood Khan, has congratulated Dr. Zenab Mansoor, a Pakistani-US paediatrician in Washington, who recently scaled Mount Everest.

She is the third Pakistani female to summit the mountain, after Naila Kiani and Samina Baig.

Felicitating Dr. Zenab Mansoor on the feat in a call, Masood Khan said her achievement has made the country proud.

In a statement, the ambassador said, “Your achievement displayed the huge potential of Pakistani women, and sets a high bar for the future generations, especially women and girls,”.

Dr. Zenab Mansoor told the envoy that for five years she prepared herself to achieve that dream. She added she had scaled five out of the seven highest peaks across, including Elbrus in Europe, Kilimanjaro in Africa, Vinson in Antarctica, Denali in North America, and now Everest in Asia.

She further said, “I felt very proud of raising the flag of Pakistan on top of Mount Everest,”.
