ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s embassies across the globe marked Pakistan Day on Saturday with great enthusiasm and national pride.
Embassies in countries including Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, Britain, Singapore, South Korea, France, Iran, the United States, Vietnam, Tajikistan, Japan, Azerbaijan, and Belgium commemorated the occasion.
Ambassadors and high commissioners hoisted the Pakistani flag and played the national anthems, while also delivering messages of the President and Prime Minister.
High Commissioner Syed Ahmed Maroof in Bangladesh paid tribute to the historic struggle for Pakistan’s creation and urged for the realization of the founding fathers’ vision.
In Tokyo, special supplements were published in leading English newspapers, and community groups organized Pakistan Day events across Japan.
At the Pakistan Embassy in Moscow, the Pakistan Day ceremony was solemn due to a terrorist attack in the city. A minute of silence was observed to honor the victims, and Ambassador Muhammad Khalid Jamali condemned the incident.
Ambassador Bilal Hayee raised the Pakistani flag in Baku, Azerbaijan, with attendance from embassy staff, Pakistani community members, and Azerbaijani citizens.
In Brussels, Ambassador Amna Baloch and Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the World Customs Organization, Syed Asad Rizvi, participated in the ceremony. Ambassador Baloch highlighted the sacrifices and determination of Muslims in creating a separate homeland.
In London, Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Faisal hoisted Pakistan’s flag to mark the National Day.
