ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to use the Election Management System (EMS) for the timely finalization of results during the upcoming General Elections 2024.
The arrangements have been finalized for the timely dispatch of results on the February 8 polls, according to media reports.
Each Returning Officer (RO) has been provided three data entry operators for the finalization of results on the EMS, the system which can work even without the internet.
The ECP has successfully tested EMS in all four provinces, and it is likely to help the timely and error-free finalization of results on February 8.
It is to be noted that ECP has completed all arrangements to conduct free, fair, and transparent polls in the country.
Pakistan’s Electoral Body Issues Code of Conduct
On Saturday, the electoral watchdog issued a code of conduct for security officials who would be deployed during the general elections.
The code of conduct binds the security officials, excluding the Armed Forces and Civil Armed Forces, to perform their duty in accordance with the law and cooperate with the presiding officers (POs), returning officers (ROs), and polling staff.
