Pakistan’s Deputy PM to Attend CHOGM in Samoa

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will head a delegation at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), starting from Monday in Samoa.

At the CHOGM, the Deputy Prime Minister will present Pakistan’s perspectives on key international issues and challenges with a focus on economic development, climate change, and strengthening international cooperation within the Commonwealth community.

In his address at the Commonwealth Business Forum on “Transforming our Workforce”, he will highlight Pakistan’s emphasis on skill development, youth empowerment and digital transformation.

He will also hold meetings with Heads of delegations of other Commonwealth Member States.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, in a statement, said Pakistan’s participation at CHOGM 2024 demonstrates its continued commitment to the Commonwealth and its ties with Small Islands and Pacific Countries.
