Pakistan’s Deputy PM Arrives in Tehran to Attend Oath Ceremony of Iran’s President-elect

TEHRAN: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday arrived in Tehran to attend the inauguration and oath ceremony of President-elect of Iran Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.

On arrival at Tehran airport, Mohammad Ishaq Dar was received by the Director General of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Seyed Rasoul Musavi and Ambassador of Pakistan to Iran Muhammad Mudassir Tipu.

Iran’s embassy in Pakistan in a post on Facebook stated that Ishaq Dar, at the head of a delegation arrived in Tehran today to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the President-elect of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian.

“Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Honorable Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, at the head of a delegation arrived in Tehran today to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the President-elect of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian,” the embassy stated.

The embassy stated that previously Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was going to attend the ceremony but due to health condition the visit was rescheduled.

Shehbaz Sharif attended the funeral ceremony of the late President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions in Tehran a couple of weeks ago, the embassy stated.

“We pray and wish for the speedy return to good health and safe recovery of the Honorable Prime Minister,” the embassy stated.
