LAHORE: Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested four high-profile terrorists during operations in different districts of the Punjab province on Saturday. The CTD said that the arrested suspects were affiliated with high-profile and designated terrorist groups and banned terrorist outfits.
A spokesperson for the Counter-Terrorism Department said that the counter-terrorism force also recovered arms and ammunition, maps and explosives from the alleged terrorists, who were shifted to undisclosed locations for interrogation.

CTD Anti-Terrorism Operations
The Counter-Terrorism Department has intensified its counter-terrorism operations across the country after the banned Tehreek Taliban Pakistan threatened to carry out attacks after a ceasefire clinched with the Pakistani government expired earlier.
Earlier, the Counter-Terrorism Department arrested two high-profile terrorists of Islamic State (IS) during operations in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad and the garrison city of Rawalpindi.
A few days back, the CTD claimed to have killed four alleged terrorists in operation in the Kharan area of Quetta and recovered a huge cache of weapons and explosives during the operation.

Recently in yet another operation, the CTD killed five alled terrorists in the Mastung district of Balochistan in a raid in the Splinji area on a tip-off about the presence of the high-profile terrorists. During the raid, a heavy gun battle also took place, which continued for around five hours.
