ISLAMABAD: During a crackdown on the terror networks in Punjab, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested five terrorists, including an important commander of the outlawed outfit Al-Qaeda from Lahore and other districts on Saturday.
CTD makes arrests
The CTD police recovered material for suicide jackets, explosives, and weapons. They banned literature from the possession of arrested militants, including a critical Al-Qaeda commander.
The terrorists were identified as Saifullah, Farooq Shah, Ahmed Khan, Israr Ahmad, and Syed Shahzeb. According to the CTD, the terrorists were fully prepared to carry out terror activities in sensitive districts.
During a combing operation this week, the CTD arrested 153 suspected terrorists and checked more than 21,000 people.
