LAHORE, Pakistan: Pakistan’s all-format cricket tour of Bangladesh, originally slated for March-April 2026, is likely to be moved to a different window to accommodate the expanded 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
According to the ICC’s Future Tour Programme, the tour was to include two World Test Championship matches, three ODIs, and three T20Is.
However, the schedule directly clashes with PSL 11, which PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced will run from March 26 to May 3, 2026.
Tour “Will Be Rescheduled,” No Reduction in Matches
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) affirmed that the series would be shifted and emphasised that the full slate of matches would be preserved.
“The series will be rescheduled,” the BCB stated. “The number of matches will not be reduced under any circumstances. The suitable window is being assessed and will be disclosed soon.”
The source added that while the format order could be reshuffled, the total content remains intact, with an official announcement expected following final consultations with the PCB.
Rescheduling Coincides with PSL Expansion Drive
The tour adjustment comes as the PCB actively courts international investment for the league’s major expansion. As part of a global outreach strategy, the board has hosted investor roadshows at London’s Lord’s Cricket Ground and in New York.
The 11th edition will mark the PSL’s first major restructuring since 2018, expanding from six to eight franchises, a move that now directly influences the national team’s international calendar.
