ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s exports of cement witnessed a significant increase of 40.46 percent during the first four months of the financial year 2023-24, as compared to the exports recorded in the same period of the last year.
According to the data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the cement exports from the country were witnessed at US $93.087 million during July-October (2023-24) compared to the exports of US $66.271 million during July-October (2022-23),
In addition, the exports of cement also witnessed an increase of 81.69 percent in terms of quantity from 1,324,110 metric tons to 2,405,798 metric tons.
Export of Cement on Monthly and Yearly Bases
Meanwhile, on a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis, the exports of cement recorded a surge of 32.58 percent during October 2023 against the same period last year.
The export of cement from the country during October 2023 was witnessed at US $26.405 million compared to the exports of US $19.916 million in the same month in 2022.
On a month-on-month (m-o-m) basis, exports of cement, however, recorded a slight decline of 2.35 percent during October 2023 against the exports of US $27.041 million in September 2023, the data further revealed.
