ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Caretaker Federal Minister for Interior, Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has called on the international community to collaborate in addressing the pressing global challenges that threaten the security and well-being of nations worldwide.
At the opening session of the 2023 Global Public Security Cooperation Forum Conference held in Lianyungang, China, Bugti emphasized the importance of cooperation and collaboration guided by international legal frameworks.
This collective effort should aim to create a more harmonious and secure world that benefits all countries through common security principles.
During his speech, the interim Interior Minister underscored establishing structures and mechanisms to guard against existing and emerging threats to global public security. These threats include terrorism, violent extremism, majoritarianism, communalism, organized crime, and cybercrime.
Bugti commended President Xi’s Global Security Initiative (GSI), which advocates for common security principles and emphasizes comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable approaches to security, all in the pursuit of a safer world.
Furthermore, he reassured the Global Forum that Pakistan is ready to actively engage in various forms of international cooperation to enhance global security and contribute to collaborative solutions for a safer world. The conference has attracted the participation of ministers and high-level delegates worldwide. —APP
