KARACHI: Pakistan’s Muhammad Asim Khan and Muhammad Ashab Irfan have advanced to the final of the Mile High 360 Squash Classic after winning their semifinal matches on Saturday.
Khan staged an impressive comeback against fellow Pakistani Noor Zaman in a thrilling five-game contest, recovering from a two-game deficit to secure victory with scores of 6-11, 8-11, 14-12, 11-9, 11-2 after 96 minutes. He saved match points in the third game to keep his hopes alive before dominating the final two sets.
In the other semifinal, Irfan delivered a commanding performance, defeating England’s third-seeded Tom Walsh 3-0 with scores of 11-8, 11-7, 11-3 in just 46 minutes. His aggressive play left Walsh with little chance to respond as he swiftly advanced to the final.
The upcoming final will feature an all-Pakistani showdown between Khan and Irfan.
