Pakistan’s Army Chief Emphasizes Youth’s Role in National Development

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, on Thursday said that youth is the future of Pakistan, which can contribute immensely towards peace, prosperity, and progress of the country.

Addressing the participants of the annual ISPR Internship Program being attended by more than 370 students from various universities across the country, COAS emphasized the role of youth towards national development, military media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

He also underscored the efforts of inimical forces towards creating and fomenting fissures, mistrust, intolerance, and violent behaviour among the public to spread anarchy and unrest in Pakistan.

Army Chief Advises Youth to Differentiate Between Truth and Lies

The army chief said that it was necessary for the youth to discern the difference between truth, half-truth, lies, disinformation, and misinformation.

While responding to a query by a participant, he said that the Jaranwala incident was extremely tragic and completely intolerable. There is no space for such extreme behavior and incidents of intolerance by any segment of society against anyone, especially against minorities.

COAS stressed that all citizens are equal irrespective of gender, caste, religion, or creed.

He emphasized that no one would be allowed to take the law into own hands, and those culpable of committing such crimes would be brought before the court of justice.

In the end, the army chief lauded the young internees for successfully completing the program.
