ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 586.800 liters of hydrochloric acid (HCL) and 1679.947 kg of drugs worth US$ 57.941 million internationally, impounded 13 vehicles, arrested 34 persons, including three women while conducting 38 counter-narcotics operations throughout the country during the last one week.
A spokesperson for the ANF, the seized drugs comprised 1404.696 kgs of hashish, 97.351 kgs of heroin, 22.600 kgs of opium, 154.150 kgs of methamphetamine (Ice), 1 kg crystal, and 0.150 kg of weed.
In nine operations, ANF Balochistan recovered 902 kg of drugs and 586.800 litres of hydrochloric acid (HCL) and impounded a vehicle. The seized drugs comprised 682 kg hashish, 150 kg methamphetamine (Ice), and 70 kg heroin.
ANF Punjab, during three operations, recovered 13.393 kg of drugs while impounding a vehicle and arresting three persons involved in drug smuggling.
The seized drugs comprised 2kgs of methamphetamine (Ice), 9.593 kg heroin, and 1.800 kg hashish. ANF K-P recovered 621.059 kgs of drugs in seven different operations while arresting five persons involved in drug smuggling and impounding two vehicles. The seized drugs comprised of 621.059kgs of hashish.
ANF Sindh recovered 19.918 kg of drugs in six operations while impounding four vehicles and arresting 11 persons, including a woman involved in drug smuggling. The seized drugs comprised 0.150 kg of weed, 0.868 kgs of heroin, 16 kgs of hashish, one kg crystal, and 1.900 kg methamphetamine (Ice).
In 13 operations, ANF north recovered 123.577 kgs of drugs, arrested 15 persons, including two women, and impounded five vehicles.
Cases have been registered and further investigations are uder way, the spokesman added.
