Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Body Recovers 138 Kg Drugs Across Country

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Body known as Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) while conducting eight operations across the country managed to recover 138 kg of drugs and arrested nine accused including two women, said an ANF spokesman on Thursday.

Among the operations, a parcel at a Cargo Office in Lahore yielded 2 kg of Ice drug, it added. Another operation in Peshawar resulted in the recovery of 1 kg of Ice from a parcel bound for Bahrain via DHL Sadar, the spokesman maintained.

In a separate action near M-1 Motorway Islamabad, two suspects were arrested with 50 kg of hashish and 40 kg of opium. Near Motorway Bridge Peshawar, an individual was caught with 15 kg of hashish and 12 kg of opium. It further added that near M-9, Jamshoro Toll Plaza, two suspects were apprehended with 6 kg of weed in the fifth operation.

The sixth operation near Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza G.T Road Attock led to the recovery of 6 kg of hashish from three individuals, including two women. The seventh operation in Kohat resulted in the seizure of 4 kg of hashish, while the eighth operation near Sher Shah Toll Plaza led to the recovery of 1 kg of heroin. The apprehended individuals are facing charges under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are underway.  —APP
