ISLAMABAD: The 76th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated in New Delhi by the High Commission for Pakistan with fervor and patriotism on Monday.
Chargé d’ Affaires Aizaz Khan hoisted the national flag during the event, which was attended by officers, staff, and their families from the High Commission.
President Arif Alvi, and former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s messages were also readout to the audience during the ceremony.
In his address, the Chargé d’ Affaires paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other leaders of the freedom struggle who paved the way for a separate homeland for Muslims in the subcontinent. He stressed that the sacrifices made by the founding fathers were unforgettable.
He also highlighted the potential for Pakistan to achieve greatness and prosperity by remaining united and focusing on economic progress and social justice.
Aizaz Khan acknowledged the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces in defending the nation and recognized their contributions.
Speaking about Pakistan’s stance on peace, he stated that Pakistan seeks peaceful relations with all neighboring countries, including India. However, he emphasized that resolving the core issue of Kashmir is crucial for sustainable peace in the region, in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Children Pay Tribute on Independence Day Celebration
During the event, children from the Pakistan High Commission’s officials performed national songs and speeches that highlighted Pakistan’s historic struggle for its creation.
The celebration concluded with the distribution of prizes and gifts to the children and the cutting of a special cake.
