DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A rally was organized on Wednesday in the northwestern city of Lakki in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to pay heartfelt homage to the martyrs of Pakistan’s armed forces who sacrificed their lives in defense of the nation.
The rally was organized by the district administration of Lakki Marwat in connection with Defense Day, which is being celebrated across the country today.
The rally witnessed active participation from all walk of life including district administration officials, political party representatives, religious leaders, social activists, students, teachers, traders, and citizens.
Commencing from the Tehsil Government Office in Lakki City, the rally passed through various city streets and marketplaces, concluding at Qargal Chowk.
Participants waved national flags and displayed banners and placards bearing patriotic slogans in support of Pakistan’s defense. They passionately chanted slogans like “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long Live Pakistan) and “Allah-o-Akbar” (God is Great).
Significance of Defense Day for Nation
Leading the rally were Yasir Nazir, Assistant Commissioner HQs, and Ishaq Ali Khan, AAC Revenue of Lakki Marwat district.
At various points during the rally, Additional Assistant Commissioners addressed the participants, emphasizing the significance of Defense Day and honoring the sacrifices made by Pakistani soldiers during the 1965 war.
They stressed that Pakistan stands as a resilient and sovereign nation capable of defending itself against external threats. They lauded the professionalism and valor of the armed forces and pledged unwavering support and cooperation.
The officials called for unity and vigilance among the people against Pakistan’s adversaries while working tirelessly for the nation’s progress and prosperity.
They reiterated their commitment to protect Pakistan’s ideological and geographical boundaries and offered prayers for the country’s peace and stability, along with the well-being of its citizens.
The rally concluded with a collective prayer dedicated to the martyrs and the Pakistani army.
