ISLAMABAD: Traders, ambassadors, member of civil society and residents from Islamabad and Rawalpindi showed their interest in handmade clothes, jewelry and bags during a Special Ramadan Market in Islamabad. Pakistani women entrepreneurs have displayed their works in the three-day event. According to the Rawalpindi Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RWCCI), the event the “Empower Women, Empower Nation” has been organized to support woman entrepreneurs in the South Asian country. It said that women entrepreneurs from across Pakistan were invited to attend the event.
Talking to WE News, Rawalpindi Women of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Senior Vice President Rahat Jabi said the main purpose of the 3-day event is to encourage women entrepreneurs especially from the areas like Gilgit and Hunza. She was of the view that they are making efforts to support them and also equip them with latest technology and training for nationwide and worldwide. She said that such events are essential to recognize the work of women entrepreneurs.
A woman Entrepreneur from Hunza expressed happiness to display her work in the event and lauded the efforts of Rawalpindi Women of Chamber of Commerce and Industry. However, she asked all stakeholders to facilitate them to present their handmade product not only in Pakistan but at international level. She said that the government does not only boost its economy through their work but also promote culture across the world. She hoped that the government in coordination with all stake holders will work together to organize such events at international level.
Hajra Kamal, a visitor told WE News that all handmade products at the market were “very lovely,” particularly the clothes. She expressed satisfaction over the price of the products as well. She maintained that she bought clothes and jewelry for herself and her kids and termed it a good opportunity for shopping before the Eid.
Senior Minister Gilgit Baltistan Syed Amjad Zaidi also visited different stalls and lauded the skills and work of women entrepreneurs. He appreciated the the Rawalpindi Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RWCCI) for organizing such events to empower women. He said that such events are also necessary to present the culture of different areas of Pakistan. The Chief Minister Punjab Coordinator Shazia Rizwan and Raja Umar also attended the event.
President of Rawalpindi Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sabuhi Hussain, Senior Vice President, Vice President Rahat Jabin and other office bears also attended the event.
