ISLAMABAD: Pakistani weightlifter, Inspector Irum Khanum, a police officer from Rawalpindi, has earned her name in sports history by winning gold at the World Powerlifting Championship 2025, held in Sri Lanka.

Irum’s incredible achievement came after she triumphed over Indian weightlifter Sapna, securing not only the top spot but also two prestigious gold medals in the competition.

The championship, which attracted top powerlifting athletes from across the globe, witnessed Irum Khanum’s outstanding performance, which earned her recognition on the international stage as a top-tier powerlifting competitor.

Her victory is proof of her dedication and hard work, both as a police officer and an elite athlete.
