ISLAMABAD: Aamir Bizenjo, a twenty-two-year-old student of Gwadar University (GU) in Balochistan, found China’s development quite inspirational and interesting. He has been witnessing the development of Gwadar under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and has now got a vision for the prosperity of his province during his visit to Islamabad, where he met Chinese officials and visited various consortiums and platforms under the collaboration of the two nations.

Bizenjo was part of a delegation comprising many students and faculty members from Gwadar University that visited the capital from Thursday to Saturday in a jointly organized trip by the Islamabad-based think-tank Pakistan-China Institute (PCI) and the Chinese embassy in Pakistan, Xinhua reported on Sunday.

Bizenjo expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government for arranging the visit. He said that the participants exchanged ideas and views about economic growth and how the two nations can develop together.

Bizenjo said that the delegation visited the embassy of China, where they saw presentations on China’s journey to modernization, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, and various Chinese projects in Pakistan, particularly CPEC.

Bizenjo said that after knowing about these projects and initiatives, he got a better understanding of China and its people. They are not just looking for the future of their country but are ensuring that no one should be left behind.

The delegates enjoyed a wide-ranging interaction, exchanged ideas with diplomats, and discussed the situation of CPEC projects in Balochistan, especially in Gwadar.

Admiration for China

GU student Rizwan Asgher expressed his admiration for the Chinese people, who he said are very nice and “always have a smile on their face.”

The Pakistani delegates also lauded China’s investment, particularly their efforts under corporate social responsibility, such as the distribution of laptops, and solar panels, establishment of vocational institutes, health facilities, etc.

They specifically extended their gratitude to the Chinese government for providing educational scholarships, which they believed were benefitting the Baloch youth.
