ISLAMABAD: In a powerful show of patriotism, the Sikh community in Pakistan has expressed unwavering support for the country in the wake of escalating tensions with India.

Radesh Singh, chairman of the Pakistan Sikh Community, strongly condemned the recent incident in Pahalgam. “The entire Sikh community, both in Pakistan and around the world, stands with Pakistan,” Singh said.

Moreover, Sikh leader Sarbat Singh warned, “Let it not come to a point where India’s own Sikh community sides with Pakistan.”

He remarked, “It would not be surprising if Pakistani Sikhs march to the Golden Temple and offer prayers there.”

“First to respond”

Sarbat Singh emphasised, “We will be the first to respond in defence of Pakistan.”

Another member of the community, Harbhajan Singh said: “Every drop of our blood is ready to fight for Pakistan.”

“We are Pakistanis. Long live Pakistan!”, said another member Waryam Singh.

The community declared Pakistan as their homeland, their land, and their mother. “We stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army,” concluded the collective message.

All minorities in Pakistan are firmly standing with the nation, they said.

Pakistan’s Hindu minister flays Modi

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Minister of State Kheal Das Kohistani, in a press conference on Friday, strongly criticised the Narendra Modi government of oppressing religious minorities in India and blaming Pakistan for Pahalgam and Muslims without an iota of evidence.

Das, a Hindu member of the Pakistani cabinet, said that Pakistan has made extraordinary sacrifices for peace in the world and in the war on terrorism. He said that Pakistan continues to fight the war against terrorists. He said that under a strategy, the Indian media after any incident, starts blaming Pakistan and Muslims. The purpose, he said is to link terrorism with Islam and Muslims.

This behaviour is evidence of the “terrorist Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s war hysteria”. He has been involved in the murder of Muslims in Indian state of Gujarat, Das said. In the case of Pahalgam incident too, Das said that the Indian prime minister’s mindset is the same as he wants to target the Muslims and Pakistan without any evidence or proof.
