Senate of Pakistan Reaffirm Support for Palestine and Discuss Regional Issues

ISLAMBAD: Session of the Upper House of Parliament, lawmakers reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Palestine, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to standing by the Palestinian people until the establishment of an independent state with Al Quds Sharif as its capital. Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed declared that the entire Pakistani nation, including the parliament, will steadfastly support Palestine’s cause.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmed of JI acknowledged the sacrifices made by the innocent people of Gaza and Palestine, expressing confidence in the eventual freedom of Palestine, envisioning Al Quds Sharif as its capital. He called upon the international community to hold Israel accountable for its aggression, urging the OIC to conduct a public hearing on Israel’s war crimes and crimes against humanity. Additionally, he advocated for Pakistan’s continued support for a ceasefire in Palestine, emphasizing the importance of regional peace.

Leader of the House, Senator Ishaq Dar, echoed the sentiments expressed by Senators Mushahid Hussain Syed and Mushtaq Ahmed, affirming full support for Palestine. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to standing behind Palestine in its quest for sovereignty.

Senator Maulvi Faiz Muhammad expressed unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, pledging to continue backing it in the future.

In another aspect of the session, Senator Dost Muhammad Khan urged the government to address the issues facing ex-FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas), emphasizing the importance of providing the region with its committed share. He highlighted the significant sacrifices made by the local populace of FATA for peace and stressed the rightful expectation of fulfilling commitments made to them.

Senator Muhammad Tahir Bizenjo called upon the Chief Justice of Pakistan to ensure justice for the people of Balochistan, emphasizing the need for legal remedies to address the grievances faced by the region’s residents. This parliamentary session reflects Pakistan’s active engagement in regional and international affairs, particularly in advocating for the rights and justice of oppressed communities.
